Sherri B makes a difference within her community by using her skills and talents to help people appreciate not only their outer appearance, but their inner beauty as well. She aims to help people explore the wonderful journey of self-care as it leads to not only looking better, but FEELING better also.

Consequently, shERRI HAS decided to embark on the journey of building and owning her very own head spa named
Zehn Beauty Bar.

AT ZEHN BEAUTY, SHErri IS focused on helping people understand the value of relaxation and the importance of SETTING boundaries. sHE VALUES the importance of intentionally distancing oneself TO unwind, recoup, and tend to one's own mental health needs; therefore, sherri has created a space for people to enjoy a place of peace NEAR HER HOMETOWN, the city of New Orleans.

Background story

At just the ripe age of 14, Sherri began her journey in the world of cosmetology where she started doing hair in her mother’s kitchen in New Orleans East, and prior to that neighborhood, the 7th ward in the heart of New Orleans. After eventually earning her license in cosmetology, Sherri began to explore new opportunities in hopes of becoming the hairstylist that she envisioned for herself as a child living in New York City walking the streets of Times Square. After a few years of searching for the right salon to call home, Sherri decided to look no further when she became a hairstylist at a salon located in Lake Forest Plaza (also known as "the plaza"). She loved the salon, and knew that she found a place to thrive in long-term, until experiencing an unexpected moment of being discovered.  While doing yet another silk press on a natural curly client, she caught the eye of a hairstylist working on the set of Last Holiday in 2004. After meeting and getting to know Sherri, it was decided to hire her on the spot– a moment that would forever change her life. As of today, Sherri is a 30 year licensed cosmetologist, 2x Emmy Nominee for the Television Academy of Creative Arts, and an Emmy Award Winner for best hairstyle in 2015 for American Horror Story Freakshow.

What do we love about Sherri B's story? We love not only her build up to success, but her message overall: Due to understanding the importance of self-love and self care, today she knows that she no longer has to carry certain stresses of life. In the past, Sherri faced the challenge of dealing with Alopecia, and believes that all struggles and mistakes eventually turned into lessons learned.

This is the reason why she believes in the importance of  self-acceptance and self-care. She aspires to help individuals find the beauty within their own hair, curl patterns, and all other hair types as well, through hair treatments, scalp massages, and more. She is inspired to help people understand their hair, without adding any additional hair to their routine. At Zehn Beauty Bar, Sherri promotes authenticity as she is prepared to share techniques that have helped her find a place of self-love.

Overall, Sherri has experienced a change that took place not only in the physical realm, but spiritual as well. Sherri is a firm believer in the power of prayer to God whom she says is the reason why she is doing all of the wonderful things that she is honored to do today. She pays homage to her family and friends as she states that they have helped her get through rough challenges in both the past and present times.
